Our team

Twelve students keep this board current. Two of them started it; the rest cover a campus each, check the listings that go stale, and answer when someone on their campus asks a question.

Nobody here is paid. Everyone here is a student.

The two who started it

Amy Morales

Co-founder · UT Arlington · Public policy

Started the list after missing a scholarship deadline that was only posted on a noticeboard. Handles partnerships and writes most of the small business spotlights.

Ryan Chen

Co-founder · UT Dallas · Computer science

Kept a phone note of every place near campus that took a student ID. Builds and maintains the site, and checks the transportation listings each semester.

Campus ambassadors

One per campus. They check the listings for their school each semester, and they are the reason a resource here says “confirmed” rather than “probably”.

Priya Shah

Ambassador · UT Arlington · Nursing

Covers healthcare and the commuter routes into Arlington.

Jordan Taylor

Ambassador · SMU · Economics

Tracks scholarships and departmental awards nobody applies for.

Dani Lopez

Ambassador · UNT · Studio art

Finds the free things to do, and most of the Denton listings.

Marcus Obi

Ambassador · TCU · Kinesiology

Wellness, rec centres and anything involving a gym membership.

Hana Nguyen

Ambassador · Dallas College · Business

Covers the Dallas College campuses and part-time work.

Sam Brooks

Ambassador · UT Dallas · Biology

Runs the campus pantry listings and re-checks them monthly.

Campuses with nobody on them yet

If you’re at one of these, you would be the first person covering it — which mostly means telling us what you already know about your own campus.

What an ambassador actually does

  • Re-checks the listings for their campus once a semester.
  • Sends in anything new they come across — a pantry, a discount, a deadline.
  • Answers the odd question from someone at their school.

Realistically an hour or two a month, and more in August and January when things change.
